Hey everyone! My name is Sara and I am a Washingtonian through and through. I spent my winters snowboarding with my girlfriends at Stevens Pass and summers road-tripping across the west to Yellowstone, Glacier, and Grand Teton National Parks. I love to travel, kayak, hike, fly fish, snowboard (generally I just like being outside), but backpacking is what makes my heart soar. The coolest trip I have completed was 4 days and 3 nights through the Icelandic backcountry, but that is soon to be eclipsed by my completion of the John Muir Trail and hikes of Half Dome and Mt. Whitney. I am going back to school this fall for forestry and look forward to sharing my knowledge with SheJumps!

I didn’t start out being an adventurous child or even teenager, but eventually the wanderlust caught up to me, and after college I spent a year teaching English and science on tiny island atoll in the Marshall Islands. Since then I’ve been doing whatever I can explore new places (especially the gems right here in Washington) and to keep pushing myself physically, mentally, and emotionally. It’s never too late to find your adventure and I plan to get as much out of this lifetime as I can!

My goal is to share my love of the outdoors with women and girls and show them that you don’t need to send the biggest line or climb the tallest peak to have an amazing time. Whether it’s on the water, barreling deep in the backcountry, or exploring your neighborhood parks, I want to help girls get outside in whatever way is most meaningful for them, and most of all, to have fun doing it!
