Shelley found SheJumps, or rather SheJumps found Shelley, back in 2011 when Co-Founder and Executive Director Claire Smallwood saw her name, along with two girlfriends Trinity Ludwig and Sarah Field, labeled “Adventurers” on a registry in Ushuaia, Argentina before they proceeded to trek nearly 1800 miles over 11 months through remote parts of the Andes. We followed their blog, teamed up for a presentation on the trip when they made it back state-side and she’s been hooked on SheJumps ever since – officially joining our team in August 2016 as Regional Coordinator for the Rockies Region.

Originally from British Columbia, Shelley grew up in Kansas City but permanently returned to her mountain roots post college when the planned “one year as a ski bum” turned into six years living and skiing in Breckenridge, CO. She has filled the last 10 years in Colorado with adventures big and small as an avid skier, snowboarder, backpacker and hiker. Her passion for getting people in the outdoors has led to work as a wilderness therapy guide in Alaska and now as Operations Manager for Paradox Sports, a Boulder-based nonprofit that specializes in adaptive climbing for people with physical disabilities. She’s got a “Happy Heart” when sleeping outside, enjoying a summit beer, riding deep powder and general outdoor shenanigans with her girlfriends.
