Flying high with Flybar

Comment on this Post Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket It felt like Christmas yesterday. When I arrived back home from a meeting, I saw an enormous package on the front step. There they were, my Flybars (both the 800 and 1200). These pogo sticks are my new obsession when skiing is out, and biking and climbing are in but take a few hours-long commitment. I quickly assembled them, and tried out the littler 800, which goes maximum 4 feet in the air. The 1200, aka monster, goes up to 7 feet. Flybars were designed by a MIT brainiac and look like rocket ships with their "thrusters" and "pistons." SBI Enterprises, the company that designed the first pogo in 1918, created these mega pogos. Being that the light was so amazing, Lynsey Dyer decided to take some photos. Here is the money shot from my first experience flying high on the Flybar. Lynsey hopes to do a series of jumping silhouette shots for our new website, hopefully coming at the end of the summer. If you have ideas, send them to info@shejumps.com. This weekend, I'm hosting a POGO BBQ with an obstacle course and beer to unveil these two pogo machines to Jackson Hole. Lynsey and I have five pogos combined (three master adult pogos and two Flybars), so it's bound to be fun. Also, think about starting your own pogo club. Jackson Hole has one in the works called Saturday "Pog to the Pub" (I think). Everyone should get one of these toys, which makes you feel like you're 5 years old again. Happy bouncing, jumping, and all-around tomfoolery, kids.
