CHARLOTTE MOATS is not your typical big-mountain skier. She is a business woman, too, an expert really at making a living at buying and flipping houses in Jackson Hole. Outside magazine picked up on it, and featured her and her Wilson “S-K-I House” (Sigma Kappa Iota) in the November issue. The magazine definitely was there the night of her huge annual party where hucking over the bon fire and dancing to the sounds of Mandatory Air were, well, just mandatory. The soft-spoken, friendliest girl in town got her smarts from Dartmouth. Before that the Fairlee, Vermont, native was busy as a fierce junior racer and won the 1995 Junior Olympics slalom gold. She even managed to squeeze in a couple contests along the way such as the 24 Hours of Aspen endurance race — which she won — and multiple events on the Freeskiing World Tour. And to top it off, she has been featured in a number of ski movies. — Vanessa Pierce (photo by Heather Erson)
