Hey SheJumps women,
I just wanted to drop a note to let you know I absolutely love what you do. A friend had sent your website on to me a while back, but I'm just know pouring over your site and getting very inspired.
I'm a 38-year-old mountain biker/snowboarder and am just recovering from a big battle with breast cancer. I needed a little kick in the pants, as I've been coming up against some frustrations. I just joined the Bay Area Team LunaChix mountain bike team. Back at Keystone when I used to teach snowboarding I started a women's snowboarding program — BettyFest — and it was just a blast.
Anyway, I mountain biked all through chemotherapy, snowboarded and skied when I could, did one tough lap of a 24 hour race 4 weeks after chemo, and have just found SO MUCH JOY in staying active throughout the hell of cancer treatment. I'm done with treatment now and struggling to get back in shape to be able to keep up with my friends on the gnarly climbs (which feel very symbolic :)
I just wanted to tell you to keep jumping and getting other women to jump. Sometimes we need to see others struggle with their own dreams to help us get off the couch to jump towards ours.
You rock!!!
