SKIING MAGAZINE Associate Editor Megan Michelson took a moment to share her life jumps with SheJumps.
SheJumps: Have you taken a jump in life?
Megan Michelson: I've taken a lot of little jumps in life, maybe 5-footers. But when you add those up, I've practically lept from the top of the Empire State Building. I've traveled alone in Thailand, broken up with a boy I still loved, took a job that paid nearly nothing, moved to the desert when I love snow, cooked my first turkey. Oh and last summer, I took a huge jump on my mountain bike and dislocated my elbow.
SJ: If so, are you where you want to be? And if not, what will it take to get there?
MM: The jumps I've taken for my career (moving to the desert, working for little money) have enabled me to land in the exact dropzone I've always intended. My goal was to write for magazines, covering sports, travel, gear—the things I loved most. And I'm there already. I still have a long ways to go, however. I want to travel more. I want to go live in Chamonix. I want to write a book. I want to do a half Ironman. I want to find someone who wants to do all of those things with me. What will it take to get there? A lot more 5-footers, I guess.
