SheJumps co-founder Lynsey Dyer just got mail in her inbox, and she couldn't be more appreciative. Her cliff-hucking pointers will be coming soon ...
Dear Lynsey, I just wanted to let you know that you are a HUGE role model to me. I loved watching you in Warren Millers's "Children of Winter," and your website SheJumps is so inspirational to me. Whenever I feel down or I'm fantasizing about becoming an extreme skier, I always go to your website. But I really do believe if it wasn't for you or SheJumps I wouldn't be the skier I am now. Last year I could BARELY make it down the bunny chair at Crystal Mountain. Now after hearing about you and going to SheJumps.org, I realized I wouldn't enjoy skiing like I do unless I'm fearless about it—now I'm doing some blacks at Alpental. My parents think I'm crazy because I want to ski off cliffs and all I say back is, "It would be fun!" Anyways I was wondering if you had any tips on how I could become a big-mountain skier and be able to go off cliffs someday. I'd really appreciate it!! Oh and if you're ever in Washington tell me please, or you could find me at Alpental every Saturday night in the upper parking lot—that's where the party is!! But again THANK YOU!!!! And go have some fun on the mountains! Sincerely, Meaghann P.S. The wind rushing through our hair and snow flying is the best part of skiing—and laughing when you fall!
