Molly Curtiss is our newest Team Leader from California's Lake Tahoe area. She is the lodging supervisor at Kirkwood Resort, and just went on a horse back adventure with friends. Here's her story ... If interested in joining Molly on another adventure like this one, email mcurtiss@kirkwood.com.

WE LEFT the corrals after getting saddled up and continued on our journey to the top of the mountain range of Granite Rocks. During the ride, we identified the wild flowers and listened to our educated guide tell us stories about Kit Carson and the Wagon Wheel Trail. We made it to the first of our destinations, but by now, we definitely felt saddle soreness. Gorgeous Granite Lake sat in front of us, so we let our horses get a good drink and continued on as the sun started to set.

Beyond the next ridge, lay Hidden Lake. It was so glassy you could see our well-known Thunder Mountain in its reflection. After a quick photo op, we made our way back down the granite trails and switchbacks.

After learning to trust, lead, and guide our new horse pals we came back even more confident in our strength and dependence. We plan on doing more of these rides in technical places in the future and would love more faces to join!
