We put together a little video about our favorite program at SJ:
(S)heJumps into the Canyon 2010. We take SLC inner city Boys & Girls Club kids to Alta Ski Area,
give them local semi-pro/pro skiers as coaches—and end up with lots of fun, laughs,
and hopefully a newly shared love of skiing. Enjoy the video, created by SJ co-founder Lynsey Dyer.

(S)heJumps into the Canyon 2010 (Utah's Fox 13 story)

With the 2010 Winter Olympic Games underway, visit this site to view many of
the athletes' stories. One heartbreaking story is about women's ski jumping.
No matter how hard they try, IOC/VANOC refuses to let them compete.
Anna Bloom reported about the saga for MSNBC. Keep fighting the good fight ladies!

SheJumps to do more! A shout out to our sponsors and a little something to remind you, "It's a new day!"

Zoya Lynch, former Canada ski jumping team member and future
big-mountain skiing star, wants SheJumps to start acknowleding our rad moms.
So Zoya sent in a video about her mom—and she is "rad." "My mom is 54,
single, and just over a year ago she gave up her life in Calgary to move to
Whistler and ski. She sold her house, gave up her corporate job, and said
goodbye to her friends," Zoya says. "All for her one and only love... skiing!
My mom is living proof that you can still take jumps, even in your 50s!"
Thanks Zoya, and if any jumpers out there have rad moms and want to share
their "jumps" as well, send video and/or photos to vanessa@shejumps.org.

Though SJ co-founder Lynsey Dyer missed our U.S. premiere of Generation
Flinga's "Catch Us If You Can" at Alta (story coming soon), we
forgive her since she was hard at work in Canada. Thanks for the giggles, Lyns!

you guys for making me laugh and to mother nature for making it snow!
Thanks also to Ride Guide, Mustang Powder, Revelstoke, our guide and
male model Chris Rubens, and my sponsors for allowing me this lifestyle:

Powder and friends make me giggle...

Ski Jumping World Champ Lindsey Van teaches Vanessa Pierce how to jump (at 29)
And again ...

Most people learn how to ski jump before they hit the double
digits, but I figured I could handle it even at age 29. "It's pretty
simple, you can figure it out," said women's ski jumping world
champ Lindsey Van. That simple, huh? Sort of, until you hit dead
grass, which acts like a brick wall. I now understand why you
start young in this sport; other than being limber, it takes years
to figure out the technicalities of jumping. If interested in really
taking up the sport, visit www.wsjusa.com. (Just in case you didn't
know, SheJumps isn't a "ski jumping" site, but sometimes while
covering sports/women/events, we can't help but add some
fly time to our site). —Vanessa Pierce

SheJumps Planning Retreat- Zion National Park from Liz Cunningham on Vimeo.

"A group of 14 incredible women spent Labor Day 2009 in Zion National
Park planning for the 2010 SheJumps programming. We went canyoneering,
and hiking, and swimming! Most importantly, we bonded, had a ton of fun
and talked A LOT about skiing!!" —Liz Cunningham, director of video
