Casting In Knoxville

I traveled to Knoxville to participate in the SheJumps Women’s Fly Casting Clinic on November 16th. It was my first trip to Tennessee and the wonderful people made me feel so welcome. So thank you to all of you that participated and helped in the event!

Sam Bild was again an amazing event organizer, working with 3 Rivers Angler, Concord Yacht Club, Earth Fare, and Echo to pull together an educational clinic filled with awesome giveaways.

We had a beautiful setting at the Concord Yacht Club

We had some great partners on board for the event.

The morning started out with women setting up their gear, while the crew from 3 Rivers Angler (Sam, Allen, and Jeremy) prepped for the class and organized the gear for us newcomers.

We enjoyed our lunch, provided by Earth Fare, while Allen demonstrated the basis of fly casting.

After lunch, it was time to grab our gear and head out for some practice casting.

The instructors spent some one-on-one time with each of us to give us personalized pointers.

The pink rod and reel definitely stood out!

By the end of the day, we all felt more confident in our abilities.

Sam was even able to take a little bit of time towards the end to work on her casting, after helping us all out.

The day wrapped up with a raffle – the big winners were Sam with the Echo rod and Chelslyn with the guided fly fishing trip!

We all had a great time and I’m looking forward to getting together with all these amazing women in the future…and hearing about all their continued adventures in Tennessee!
