Here at SheJumps our programs are designed to fulfill our promise to not only increase female participation in outdoor activities, but also ensure that younger generations have the resources they need to get outside through adventure, education, and, community building.
SheJumps Youth Initiatives are geared towards building life skills; empowering ownership and confidence through exposure to positive female role models, supportive communities and the outdoors . These programs exist to give both girls and boys the opportunity to know what it’s like to have dirt under their feet, sun on their cheeks, and wind in their hair.
Our Youth Initiatives goal is to ensure that our message gets around the country in the form of events, workshops, ‘Get The Girls Out!’ events, and any other way we can find to connect the youth of today with the resources they need—from equipment to instruction to mentorship—to envision a life where adventure in the outdoors is a daily staple.
One of our most successful Youth Initiatives is the Utah-based (S)heJumps into the Canyon event series. In this particular program, we partner with local Boys & Girls Club, bringing their youth participants skiing at Alta. We set them up with all of the tools to succeed. Everything is included: lift tickets, outerwear, rentals, coaching, and of course, sunscreen
We’ve also worked with Girl’s Inc, YWCA, and Big City Mountaineers. We plan to grow these programs all over the country and help more people experience the spirit of sharing mountain community with budding “Girafficorns.”
