    SheJumps works with Alta Ski Area to sponsor four camps in January. (S)heJumps into the Canyon camps are a “start-to-finish” curriculum for its participants that include two classroom sessions to familiarize the teens with the gear, technique, and goals of the program. Local professional and recreational skiers volunteer their time to coach at these camps as well, creating a very unique atmosphere for these local teens that have never stepped into skis before. It is our goal to help these teens gain confidence in their skiing and in their ability to take risk and work toward a reward. We also educate them on local resources to make skiing more affordable, should they want to pursue a sport that is so central to Utah’s reputation. We share local resources with the teens that will enable a more long-term approach to learning this fulfilling winter pastime.
