How We Do What We Do
Everything we do is mission-based and is designed to create opportunities to Jump In, Jump Up, and Jump Out. This is your chance to get involved with the life you’ve always dreamed of – and share the one you’re living – with women and girls in your local community and all over the world! We are here to create and share the new ‘cover girls’; the new inspiration of what it means to ‘jump’ to reach your highest potential.
SheJumps is a 501c3 tax-exempt nonprofit. Tax ID: 68-0662227
We serve girls ages 6 and up, women 18 & older who either have never participated in outdoor activities or are active members of the outdoor community looking to give back and share their passion.
We welcome all women and girls (transgender and cisgender) as well as non-binary people who identify with the women’s community.
SheJumps increases the participation of women
and girls in outdoor activities to foster confidence, leadership, and connection to nature and community through free and low-cost outdoor education.
To be the leading resource of free and low-cost outdoor education for women and girls in the United States.
Half giraffe, half unicorn - all magic.
Designed by co-founder Lynsey Dyer, the Girafficorn exists to remind the child in all of us to play; outside. With feet on the ground and eyes focused where she wants to go, the Giraffcorn stands as a reminder to keep the spirit of play and possibility alive when taking the jump toward our greatest potential.
Where It Started
SheJumps was founded by Lynsey Dyer, Vanessa Pierce, and Claire Smallwood.
Three friends who rallied around the idea of,
“If she can do it, so can I.”
Whether skiing or climbing, SheJumps wanted to celebrate the accomplishments of women from beginners to pro athletes and provide them with a support system where they would feel confident taking jumps (risks) and try something new.
In July 2007, Co-Founder Vannessa Pierce, organized SheJumps’ first event: 14 women climbing the Grand Teton, the largest group of women to that date. From that point it has become a community for women in all walks of life with programming across the nation.
