As we close out the year, we’re honored to share a letter from SheJumps Board Chair Stephanie Selin. In her words below, Stephanie reflects on community, connection, and why showing up for one another, on the trail and beyond, matters now more than ever.

This past August, I hiked the Presidential Traverse in New Hampshire with an incredible group of women through SheJumps. It was hard. It was transformative. And every step was powered by more than just grit and determination; it was powered by community.

On the trail, surrounded by encouragement and shared commitment, I was reminded why SheJumps exists: because while we can climb alone, we thrive when we climb together.

Right now, we need that kind of connection more than ever. We need spaces that lift us up, remind us of our strength, and bring us joy, even when the path feels steep.

“SheJumps is not just about getting women and girls outdoors. It’s about community. It’s about believing we can be and do better—for ourselves, and for each other. Even in difficult times, our community continues to rise together.”

For SheJumps, that means building a community of belonging through our Snowpack Scholarship program, giving women the opportunity to courageously climb mountains together through our Fundraising Climbs, and unlocking personal growth with new skills, confidence, and community, as envisioned in our new three-year strategic plan.

In my nearly six-year journey with SheJumps, I’ve had the opportunity to review those scholarship applications, climb those mountains, and lean in with the Board of Directors.

While I’ve gained skills and confidence along the way, it’s the community that has inspired me the most. Staff, volunteers, donors, and participants come together to make this community and these opportunities possible. Thank you.

Just as I was lifted by others on the trail during my own climb, SheJumps is lifted by you. Your support ensures that every woman and girl who takes a jump into the outdoors finds encouragement and community beside her.

Let’s continue our journey together—please join me in making an end-of-year gift to SheJumps.

With gratitude and wishes for much joy this December and in the year to come,

Stephanie Selin

SheJumps Board Chair

P.S. All donations made between now and December 31 will be matched up to $30,000, thanks to a generous supporter. Give now to double your impact.
