SheJumps Wilderness First Aid Access Program
We are excited to announce the 5th annual SheJumps Wilderness First Aid Access Program. A Wilderness First Aid course–or WFA for short–is frequently required training for jobs in outdoor recreation. WFA is an intensive 2-day, in-person course that teaches critical outdoor safety skills. WFA training is for anyone who spends time outdoors, from recreational hikers and campers to outdoor professionals, and wants to be prepared to handle medical emergencies in remote locations.
SheJumps believes that all women and girls should feel belonging in the outdoors, and that means providing equitable access to women who have historically experienced barriers accessing outdoor education. By creating a total of 32 lottery-based opportunities to take a Wilderness First Aid course in either Seattle and Boston, we are working to offer more than just a certification. These courses are also important affinity spaces for building community and connection. Women of all races and ethnicities can apply, and race and ethnicity will not be considered in the selection process.
Boston - Course Details
October 18-19, 2025

“As someone who recreates in the outdoors almost daily, it was so helpful to learn about prevention and treatment in the WFA course. I am so thankful for the opportunity that SheJumps provided since I probably wouldn't have been able to afford it on my own. Thank you to everyone who made this happen!”
- Grace K, 2023 WFA Access Program Recipient, Seattle, WA

“My favorite part of the course was feeling safe with other women without judgement. I loved it all!”
- 2024 WFA Access Program Recipient, Seattle, WA
