SheJumps is proud to offer over 200 events per year to communities across the United States. How are we able to do that? Primarily through the hard work and dedication of our volunteer base. We want to celebrate and honor the fact that our community of volunteers fully leads 80% of our nationwide events. Their dedication doesn’t just support our work, it is our work.

As we celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Month, we want to take a moment to shine the brightest spotlight on these individuals who make our mission come alive. You are the ones who show up early to greet participants, plan creative and inclusive programming, and create welcoming spaces for women and girls to step into the outdoors with confidence. You lead in all seasons, often in snowy, windy, muddy, and unpredictable conditions, all with a smile and a deep belief in what SheJumps stands for. That kind of commitment can’t be taught. It’s rooted in passion, community, and courage.
Out of our 138 volunteers nationwide, nearly half of you have been giving your time for three years or more. That speaks volumes. Whether you’re organizing a Wild Skills youth event, leading educational workshops, or bringing people together for a local hike, your impact is immense and deeply appreciated.
But the impact doesn’t stop there. Behind the scenes, we’re also supported by a committed group of volunteer board members who help shape the vision, strategy, and sustainability of SheJumps. Their leadership ensures that our programs continue to grow and evolve to serve more girls and women in the outdoors.
This year, we’re also finding new and meaningful ways to recognize you, because you deserve it. From small tokens of gratitude to celebrating your stories and milestones, we want you to know that you matter. Not just during Volunteer Appreciation Month, but every single day.
Thank you for being the heartbeat of SheJumps. Thank you for believing in this mission, and thank you for inspiring a future where outdoor spaces are more inclusive, empowering, and accessible for all.
With endless gratitude,
Liz Sequeira (Volunteer Manager) and the SheJumps Team
