Join SheJumps with Green Mountain Club for the 3nd annual full moon backcountry ski and snowshoe up the Long Trail, and down the face of Bromley Mountain. It’s a beautiful trail through the woods, getting steep at the top, which leads to the summit of Bromley . We will stop in the Patrol hut for a snack and awesome raffle from our partners, then we will all descend on the same trail , under the moonlight, to the bottom of the parking lot of the ski area. Date: Saturday, February 11th
Time and Location: Meet at the Bromley Ski Area at the east end of the main parking lot at 6 pm. Leave some cars there and carpool to the Vt 11/30 Long Trail parking lot. Snowshoe or skin up the Long Trail by head lamp to the summit of Bromley Ski Area, stop in at the ski patrol building to warm up and have a snack, then ski or snowshoe by moonlight down one of the ski trails. Bring extra clothing, snacks, fluids, headlamp with spare batteries, hand warmers. Climb 3 miles with 1460 feet of elevation gain and then the ski or snowshoe down the ski trail. Moderate to difficult trip depending on snow depth.
