Get the Girls Out Berkshire East Recap

On Saturday night 1/28 SheJumps held is 5th Annual Get the Girls Out event at Berkshire East. Every year this event gets bigger and bigger and this year was no exception with 43 women attending! Berkshire East is one of the few places in New England that offers night skiing. We are lucky to have them as a partner for many events but having them as a Get the Girls Out partner and being able to do a night skiing event makes it even better!

New York RC Alex Norton with Coalition Snow Ambassador Molly Bennett

Coalition Snow joined us this year with demo snowboards. Coalition Snow makes skis and boards that are made for women by women that are everything you would need out on the mountain. Molly Bennett an ambassador for Coalition Sow brought 3 boards with her. It was awesome to be able to offer women the chance to try something new!

This winter was off to a great start and then went a little south. Even with the weather not cooperating Berkshire East has done an amazing job keeping up with snow making and all the night skiing trails were open! We started the night off by slitting in to 3 groups based on ability levels. It was so awesome to have ages 9 to 65 out skiing, boarding and skinning together!

It was not too cold to start of the night and with longer days we got a few runs in before the lights turned on. Night skiing is awesome for just cruising around!

Everyone came in to warm up a few hours into the night and we did our raffle. This was one amazing raffle. We had tickets and gear from Berkshire East, a hat and swag items from Coalition Snow, a helmet from Pret, a boot bag, t-shirts and hats from The Alpine Sport Shop, a down sleeping bag from Backcountry.com, a lip balm gift packs from Eco lips, a bunch of awesome winter hats from Cirque Mountain Apparel, a facial care kit from Julie Theriault and mittens and hand warmer packs from Avery’s General Store. Darn Tough also was a huge partner for this event donating over 20 pairs of socks that went out to the first 10 that signed up and then the rest we added as random prizes throughout the raffle!

The rest of the night was spent back on the hill, socializing and enjoying good food and drinks! Thank you to all of our partners that donated to the raffle and our partners who donated to the swag bags, EcoLips, Treeline Coffee, Central Rock Hadley MA and COOLA. Thank you to all the volunteers who came and helped make this night a huge success! We are so excited to see the North East growing and can’t wait to see you all at future events!
