Have you explored Big South Fork? This National River and Recreation area is located on the Tennessee & Kentucky border and is a 2-hour drive from Knoxville. We are excited to host this group hike on the Twin Arches Loop Trail and introduce everyone to the beautiful river gorges, sandstone bluffs, and Appalachian history on the Cumberland Plateau. The hike is 4.6 miles and takes about 3 hours.
We’ll meet at the Twin Arches Loop parking area on Twin Arches Road outside of Oneida, TN at 10a.m. on Saturday Morning. Make sure to print directions prior to the hike, as cell phone reception is spotty once you enter Big South Fork.
Make sure to pack water and a snack.
Directions: From Oneida TN. Take 297 West turn left on Leatherwood Ford Rd. Travel 19 miles to 154 North turn right. Travel 1.9 miles turn right on gravel road Divide Road. Travel 3.9 miles turn right on Twin Arches Road. Parking area 2 miles ahead. (Lat:36.54074 Lon:-84.73614). Map to Twin Arches Loop Trail, Big South Fork trailhead here.
