Saturday, June 20th SheJumps hosted a “ski repurpose” party in conjunction with one of our partners, SoulPoles. The aim of the party was simple: to get rid of all the ski gear that had been donated to SheJumps over the years but was unusable for actual skiing.
Rather than throw it away, we decided to make creative crafts with the skis and boots. Our Ambassador Marissa Schulruff and Regional Coordinator Elise Trauscht, armed with safety goggles and several boxes of drill bits, helped over 20 women and men walk away with wine racks. coat racks, and ski boot planters. The ski boots were filled with everything from Geraniums to habañero peppers! Meanwhile, Executive Director Claire Smallwood served up burgers, veggie burgers, and brats to our attendees as everyone enjoyed the warm afternoon sun in Park City.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to SoulPoles for hosting the event with us and helping us use all their tools. Also, thank you to the Park City community for coming out to support the event. We had a great time, and will have to do it again!
