Our for-profit partner, Soul Poles, will be hosting a bamboo ski pole building workshop at RMU’s flagship store in Breckenridge and we wanted to make sure that all you gals knew to come and learn about bamboo, build your own custom ski poles, and reconnect before what we all hope will be a DEEP winter! You may have seen or heard of Soul Poles through the SheJumps newsletter blasts; nevertheless, if they are new to you, here is a quick rundown on the company and their Mobile Soul Shop Tour.
Founded by World Cup Downhiller, Bryon Friedman, Soul Poles is motivated by a deep connection with the mountains and the observed need to set a new standard for truly sustainable business in the ski industry.

Direct trade bamboo, hand-shaped in Park City, UT Recycled tips, grips, and straps 5-year guarantee This Educational Initiative is one Soul Shop stop on a 12 state, 45 stop, 6 month tour. The event will unfold the Mobile Soul Shop’s custom bamboo ski pole workshop inside 5B garage where they will be building custom-sized poles, adorned with your choice of colored grips and baskets. They can either work you through a Build Your Own (BYO) or shape and assemble your custom poles there on the spot. 10% of all event sales will be donated to SheJumps!

If you would like to have custom engraved poles waiting for you to build, please contact Matt Hundhammer at matt@soulpoles.com or 503-799-8638 before December 4th and be sure to include in the email your height, skier type, estimated size, and engraving directions. You can estimate your size on the website by selecting “find your size” link located next to size options for any pole.
