Know a fundraiser who leads with strategy and tells stories that move people? We want to meet them!

At SheJumps, we believe getting outside changes everything. Outdoor experiences build confidence, connection, resilience, and a deeper relationship with the natural world. But for many women and girls, these experiences can feel out of reach due to barriers, lack of representation, or simply being told they don’t belong.

SheJumps exists to change all of that.

As we approach our 20th anniversary in 2027, we’re entering an exciting new chapter. Less than a decade ago, SheJumps had no paid staff. Today, we’re a team of seven working toward an ambitious Strategic Plan  focused on long-term sustainability, deeper impact, and growing our community.

To help lead that next phase, we're hiring our first-ever Director of Development & Communications.

This role is designed for someone who understands that fundraising and communications are deeply connected. Strong fundraising is about more than asking for support. Strong communications are about more than telling stories. The magic happens when strategy, storytelling, donor experience, and mission alignment all work together.

The Director of Development & Communications will lead:

  • Major gifts and donor relationship strategy

  • Individual giving growth and campaign strategy

  • Communications strategy, including donor and program participant journey design

  • Board fundraising activation

  • A small but mighty team: our Partnerships & Development Manager and Communications Manager

You’re a fit if you:

  • Are passionate about expanding outdoor access for women and girls

  • Have 5–7 years of progressive nonprofit development experience with fundraising as your primary focus

  • Can connect communications across fundraising & programming

  • Know how to move donors from awareness to investment

  • Are a thought partner and team player

  • Become energized by building structure

  • Reside in Utah, Oregon, or Colorado (While this is a remote role, this is due to operational constraints, thank you for understanding!)

Benefits & Work Environment

  • Starting salary: $80,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience

  • $400/month health reimbursement stipend (externally managed, non-taxable)

  • 3% employer retirement contribution (no employee match required)

  • 22 days paid vacation per year + 13 federal holidays + 1 floating holiday

  • Sick leave: 67 hours per year, accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked

  • Remote work environment with flexible scheduling

  • Laptop provided for work use, with monthly phone reimbursement and annual office supply budget

  • Ongoing professional development opportunities

  • Free access to all online SheJumps events and occasional discounted access to guide-led programs

  • Discounts with SheJumps brand partners

How to apply:

  • To apply, read the job description and then please complete the application form. For this position we require a resume, cover letter, and one writing sample (donor appeal, stewardship letter, or campaign email you've written).

  • Deadline to apply: June 19, 2026 (SheJumps may choose to close the application window early or extend the deadline. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible!)

  • If you have any questions or require additional assistance, please email careers@shejumps.org (please expect 2-3 business days for a response).
