Wild Skills Utah: October 15 at the Utah Olympic Park

We are so excited to announce the first Wild Skills event at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City on October 15, 2016. Wild Skills is a free day camp for young girls to learn the skills they need for outdoor adventuring. The Wild Skills event in Park City is open to girls ages 6-15. Participants will be introduced to skills such as first-aid, navigation, Leave No Trace, 10 Essentials, and shelter-building. All girls will also be able to challenge themselves on one of the Utah Olympic Park’s confidence-building discovery ropes courses.

Wild Skills creator and program director Christy Pelland adds: “Our goal is to see girls learning, having fun and connecting in an encouraging environment with inspirational instruction and support. We want this to be a day they will remember, one that will spark a lifetime of passion for the outdoors and will remind them that they are capable of anything!”

In addition to opening the camp up to the general public, SheJumps holds at least 25% enrollment for girls from other community organizations serving underprivileged youth as part of their commitment to increasing diversity among its participants. Organizations such as Hartland Community for Youth & Families, serving the refugee community in West Valley, have already signed up and more are on the way.
