WILD SKILLS ADVENTURE Rainier Snowshoeing – Recap

Wild Skills partnered with Mt Rainier National Park and Y.E.T.I. to take 32 girls, ages 6-16 on an interpretive snowshoe hike from Paradise on Mt Rainier, November 13th. Many of the girls had never been on snowshoes or on Mt Rainier. Each group was lead by a park ranger and helped by SheJumps volunteers. Feb 11th, Green Mountain Club members and SheJumps participants met at the trail head in Manchester VT for a backcountry ski and shoe. Each of us counted off 1-17, then strapped in and buckled, backpacks loaded headlamps on, and off we went single file up 3 miles to the top of Bromley Sun Mountain. What are you guys planning to do this winter for activities? This was the first question a group of 8 women was asked by Eastern Mountain Sports employees. The answered ranged from snowshoeing to hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and learning how to layer. All of these women had different back grounds. Some had been in the Outdoor leadership program, a bunch came from a local outdoor adventure company and one had never set foot in a Eastern Mountain Sports store

First Mother Daughter Event a Success!

On Saturday Januaray 25th SheJumps Intermountain hosted it’s first ever Mother Daughter event – a snowshoe adventure! 26 ladies holding titles of mother, daughter, and even grandmother gathered together at Wasatch Mountain State Park.
